Startups Uncensored #5 - “Raising Money from Angel Investors”
This month’s “Startups Uncensored” will be on “Raising Money from Angel Investors”. It will be an open and frank town-hall conversation revealing how to meet, build relationships over time, and attract angel investment for your start up.
Our “real life” Angel Investor guests for this month’s event include Kamran Pourzanjani CEO of Bestcovery and co-founder and former CEO of Pricegrabber, Brett Brewer, co-founder of Intermix Media (parent company of MySpace), Matt Coffin, founder of LowerMyBills, Rick Smith, Managing Director of Crosscut Ventures (a los angeles based angel fund), Jeff Tinsley CEO and founder of MyLife (formerly Reunion.com), and Bryce Benjamin of the TechCoast Angels.

The event is free and is followed by a reception and mixer at the Docstoc Offices in Santa Monica by the 3rd Street Promenade. The venue holds about 140 folks, ALL PREVIOUS EVENTS WERE FULL WITH STANDING ROOM ONLY. If you are not one of the first 140 to RSVP and confirm, we will have a waiting list.

Hey Jason, thanks so much for your candor and open opinions on angel investors. It was a great crowd and vibe with lots of interested people looking to grow this tech community of ours. Thanks for opening your office too, free drinks!
I didn’t have a chance to catch you at your office afterward, but I definitely look forward to SU6.
At what point do you feel is the right time to start asking for funding? (With an idea, after a prototype, after a successful project, etc.)
