Jason Lawrence Nazar an active tech entrepreneur, investor/advisor and writer/speaker. He’s one of the most well know business leaders in southern California, currently serving as the Entrepreneur in Residence for the City of Los Angeles. Jason is the Co-Founder and CEO of Comparably.com, which makes workplace compensation and culture dramatically more transparent. Comparably launched in March 2016, and raised $6.5 million from a collection of the top venture capital firms in Silicon Valley & Los Angeles to pursue it’s vision to Make Work More Rewarding. Prior to Comparably, Jason was the co-founder/CEO of Docstoc, one of the most visited websites in the world from 2008-2014. Docstoc was the largest content sites to help small businesses with a vast collection of user-generated and expert published legal & business documents, articles & videos. At the time of its sale to Intuit in December 2013, Docstoc had over 20M unique visitors a month and 50M registered members worldwide. In 2015, in a company-wide restructuring, Intuit repurposed the Docstoc content and turned off the website.
Jason is also the creator and host of Startups Uncensored, the longest running and most widely attended technology gathering in southern California, which regularly brings together thousands of entrepreneurs, techies and investors. Before starting Docstoc, he was a partner in a venture consulting firm in Los Angeles where he worked with dozens of startups. Jason holds a BA from UCSB and his JD/MBA from Pepperdine University, where he was the Student Body President of both Universities. He currently serves on the board of Carelix, Collab Studios, & Flo and previously was a board member at Tillys & Ticketmob. He’s a tech angel investor/advisor involved in over 20 companies. Jason was named one of the “Most Admired CEOs in Los Angeles” by the LA Business Journal & is a frequent contributor to Forbes, WSJ, & Business Insider. He’s a native Los Angeleno, active in YPO & an avid sports fan.
